Quick answer

New to RF Online Next? Do four things in order: pick a faction by the war style you enjoy, learn that Biosuits swap mid-combat so you’re never locked into one role, get comfortable rotating war roles, then aim at the Mining War endgame. It’s free-to-play and classless — your early choices aren’t permanent except your faction, so don’t burn hours rerolling.

What RF Online Next is

RF Online Next is Netmarble's Unreal Engine 5 rebuild of the 2004 original. It keeps the franchise's defining identity — a three-way faction war — but reworks how characters play. Most importantly, it is classless.

The Biosuit system, in one line

  • You wear Biosuits that each give a different combat role, and you can swap suits mid-combat.
  • Skill levels carry across suits, so investing in your character is never wasted — you are not locked into one class the way you were in the original.
  • That means your "build" is really a kit of roles you rotate between, not a single fixed archetype.

The basics that matter on day one

Three factions

Pick a side

Bellato Union, Holy Alliance of Cora, and the Accretian Empire fight a three-sided war. Your faction shapes who you fight beside and against.

Free-to-play

Cross-platform

Free to play on PC (Epic Games Store and the Netmarble Launcher) and mobile (iOS / Android), with cross-progression — your account follows you between devices.

Summons

Reroll is usually unnecessary

Duplicate summons fuse into higher rarity, so a "bad" early pull still feeds your collection. Burning hours rerolling for a perfect start generally is not worth it.

First steps

  1. Pick a faction whose war style you enjoy. You will spend a lot of time in its fights, so play preference matters more than any "best faction" claim.
  2. Learn the Biosuit swap early. Getting comfortable changing roles mid-fight is the single biggest skill jump for a new player.
  3. Don't burn resources rerolling. Because duplicates fuse into higher rarity, a clean reroll-free start is fine — invest in your character instead.

Where to go next

Once you are comfortable with the basics, the endgame is the large-scale faction war over the Holy Stone. Our flagship guide covers how it works and the roles that win it.

Frequently asked questions

Is RF Online Next free to play?
Yes. It's free to download and play on PC (the Epic Games Store and the Netmarble Launcher) and on mobile (iOS and Android), with cross-progression so one account carries across devices.
Which faction should a beginner pick?
Pick the faction whose war style you enjoy — Bellato (technology and Sacred Weapons), Cora (force-magic control), or Accretia (pure-machine frontline). There's no beginner-only faction; healthy server population matters more, so check which side is active before you commit.
Should I reroll at the start?
Usually not. Duplicate summons fuse into higher rarity, so a weak early pull still feeds your collection — a clean reroll-free start is fine. Spend that time learning the Biosuit swap instead.
Can I change my class or Biosuit later?
Yes, constantly. The game is classless: you swap Biosuits mid-combat and your skill levels carry across them, so you're never locked into one role. Your faction is the one early choice to treat as lasting.
